ASPIRO.

Announced

Selective modular green-asparagus harvester. Prefiro combines AI with precision actuators. The harvest module mounts on a new, old, or autonomous tractor and cuts spears to a chosen length. Prefiro showed ASPIRO at three 2026 field demos in Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Baden-Württemberg, and lists further demos for 2027.

Prefiro shows ASPIRO at three 2026 field demos ↗

Prefiro says that in May and June 2026 it showed ASPIRO live in Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Baden-Württemberg, and that more than 90 farmers saw the machine. Further 2027-season demos are planned; dates were not yet published.

More from Prefiro

ASPIRO is Prefiro’s selective harvester for green asparagus. Prefiro describes a harvest module that works with any tractor — new, old, or autonomous — and uses AI with precision actuators for millimetre-precise cutting at a chosen spear length.

Prefiro is a young start-up founded by students from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the University of Hohenheim. The legal entity is Prefiro GmbH. The imprint lists Rudolf-Diesel-Str. 28, 76356 Weingarten (Baden), Germany; managing directors Frieder Matter and Lorenzo Di Leo; Amtsgericht Mannheim HRB 752351; and VAT ID DE419965893. The English imprint also calls the firm an agricultural-technology start-up in Karlsruhe, Germany. North Data reprints the Handelsregister entry: articles of association dated 22 August 2024 and registration on 11 October 2024, originally with seat in Karlsruhe.

Prefiro says specialty-crop harvesting work began in 2022, including a 2023 saffron-harvest prototype, then a January 2024 focus on green asparagus. After EXIST and Young Innovators funding with Hohenheim and KIT, Prefiro GmbH was founded in October 2024. Later milestones on the company site name a November 2024 ExpoSE demonstrator, a December 2024 pre-seed round without a stated figure, t3n “AI Startup of the Year 2025,” a November 2025 first complete machine at ExpoSE, a November 2025 first patent without a stated number, and NBank HTI (ERDF/STEP) funding with the Seedhouse Accelerator without a stated figure.

In May and June 2026 Prefiro showed ASPIRO live at three field demos in Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Baden-Württemberg. The company says more than 90 farmers saw the machine. Further field demonstrations are planned for the 2027 green asparagus season; dates and sites were not yet fixed. From 2028 Prefiro says it will apply the same approach to other crops such as broccoli.

Prefiro does not list mass, dimensions, power, battery, speed, or a price for ASPIRO.
