Who is behind this?
The directory is maintained by Carl Lippert. Carl also offers technology consulting through Grass Ridge Tech, which is linked on this site. Those consulting links are a commercial relationship, not evidence that a listed robot has been tested or endorsed.
How to read a record
We collect public manufacturer descriptions, technical documents and other identified sources. Manufacturer performance figures remain manufacturer claims unless a record explicitly identifies independent evidence. Models, configurations and observations collected at different times can differ; capture dates show when information was recorded, not necessarily when a machine was released.
Unknown values remain unknown. A missing price is not a zero price, and a listed price may exclude service, subscriptions, transport or taxes. Confirm current specifications, availability and commercial terms with the supplier.
Research and review
The guides published September 27, 2026 were drafted and checked against their cited sources by Codex using AI assistance. Their named source reviewer is Codex, not a human product tester. Carl is the site maintainer; this does not mean he personally reviewed every claim. These articles do not claim independent human review or hands-on field testing.
Guide source-check dates are shown separately from the dates of catalog observations. Editorial comparisons explain questions and tradeoffs rather than assigning unsupported product rankings. When information conflicts, consult the dated original source and exact model; do not combine measurements from different configurations.
Corrections and additions
Use “Submit a robot” in the footer to send a correction or addition. Include the listing URL, the field that needs changing, the model or configuration, and a public source supporting the update. The form accepts a website and notes, so it can also carry corrections to existing entries. We do not promise a fixed response time.
Use the directory as a starting point
