Carbon Autotractor.

Carbon Autonomy is Carbon Robotics’ tractor autonomy kit. The official page says it installs on John Deere 6R, 8R, 8RX, and 8RT (2019+) series tractors with no permanent modifications; fuses camera, radar, and lidar; and is remotely supervised by Carbon operators who can intervene. Manual override keeps stock tractor controls. Named tasks include tilling, discing, ripping, and smart-implement integration with the LaserWeeder.

On 1 September 2026, during the Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa, Carbon Robotics launched the Carbon Autonomy Ready program. A company-authored Global Ag Tech Initiative release and Carbon’s partners page name Great Plains Manufacturing (a Kubota company; seeding and soil-management equipment) as the first member. The program is a technical specification so third-party implements can integrate with Carbon Autonomy. Tractors running Carbon Autonomy read Great Plains Implement Command data and autonomously adjust depth, down pressure, and leveling. The show pairing was a Great Plains HT1100 Terra-Max with integrated sensors and a Carbon implement kit. Founder and CEO Paul Mikesell is quoted in the release.
