Agtonomy (South San Francisco / California; farmer-founded) embeds autonomy in brand-name tractors and implements rather than selling its own tractor. Official press (19 August 2026) and The Robot Report (20 August 2026) announced two platform updates.
Fully autonomous multi-point turning lets Agtonomy-enabled units execute complex reverse manoeuvres without a human, aimed at tight orchard and vineyard headlands and acreage that autonomous tractors previously could not finish. CEO and co-founder Tim Bucher is quoted on both pages.
Each vehicle in operation processes more than 2 terabytes of data per hour. Anonymized passive data is described as a foundation for fleet-wide models and, later, for qualified agronomy and analytics partners. The platform supports more than 500 implements (air-blast sprayers, discs, precision toolbars) via the Agtonomy Implement Library. The Robot Report names OEM partners Kubota and Bobcat. Joel Carter, orchard operations manager at Okanagan Specialty Fruits, is quoted saying Agtonomy-enabled equipment is used for 100% of that operation’s crop data collection, including at night.
