FIRA USA 2026 awards were announced on 21 October in Yakima. Farmer Built: Andrew Nelson of Nelson Farms. First in Field: Jeff Cleveringa of Columbia Orchard Management. Proven On Farm: Joel Carter of Okanagan Specialty Fruits. Women in Agricultural Innovation: Ines Hanrahan, executive director of the Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission. Attendees also voted for favorite robots or technology. Honorees were Burro, Boson Motors, and Agtonomy.

Burro announces general availability of Grande 44, now shipping to customers ↗

At FIRA USA 2026, Burro said Grande 44 is in production and shipping through its direct sales team and 50 dealers in 17 countries. Pre-order opened in June 2026; production began in August; customers began receiving units in Q3. Charlie Andersen, CEO: “The industry has plenty of prototypes and very few products.” Published figures: 44 HP peak (18 HP continuous), up to 6,000 lb tow, 1,500 lb payload, 10 kWh standard battery expandable to 40 kWh, 360° 3D LiDAR and four stereo cameras (12 cameras total). Works with Cortador 48-inch brush cutter, Sprayito, and the Autonomous Charging Dock.

On 19 October 2026 Burro said Grande 44 is on TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026 list in the Agriculture category. Charlie Andersen, CEO: the platform is built on eight years of putting other Burro models to work.
