Farm robot prices: published figures, configurations, and what remains unknown

Read the commercial terms before the number

There is no useful single price for a farm robot. A scouting platform, a weeding implement and a tractor retrofit buy different capabilities. A hardware figure can also exclude the subscription needed to operate it.

For this guide we selected a catalog product whose manufacturer publishes both purchase and lease terms, then checked the original page. We leave other examples unpriced when the reviewed primary source does not establish a comparable total. This is a dated illustration, not a market-wide price survey or a quotation.

TerraScout: purchase and lease are different offers

Checked September 27, 2026: TerraClear’s USD reservation page lists TerraScout hardware at USD 190,000 plus USD 30,000 per year for autonomy and image collection. It separately lists an all-in annual lease of USD 55,000 with no upfront hardware payment. The manufacturer describes these as indicative first-run terms, subject to the reservation agreement, with deliveries targeted for fall 2027.

The USD 1,000 refundable reservation deposit is credited toward purchase or lease; it is not the machine price. No currency conversion has been applied. The public catalog’s September 25, 2026 hardware observation must be read alongside these additional terms, not as a complete operating cost.

Do not fill missing prices with guesses

The reviewed Naïo Oz product page describes tools and specifications but does not establish a total delivered price for your configuration. Sabanto describes fitting autonomy to an existing tractor; a retrofit proposal must identify the supported tractor and what the installation includes. Request a dated, region-specific quote for both.

An absent price does not mean free, unavailable, or more expensive. Equally, a published starting figure does not establish what your field-ready installation will cost. Dealer transport, taxes, financing, energy and service commitments require separate confirmation.

Use the same worksheet for every proposal

Record original currency, quote date, model, options, territory and whether the arrangement is a purchase, lease or service. Separate one-time payments from annual or usage-based charges. Keep assumptions visible so a later renewal or revised quote can be compared fairly.

Estimate annual cost per completed acre or hectare from annual ownership or lease costs plus operating costs, divided by realistic treated area. Define whether “area” counts repeat passes. For hauling or dairy work, choose a useful unit of output instead; acres are not a universal denominator.

A low cost per hour is not useful if the robot misses the available operating window. Model downtime, supervision and the fallback job as well as the expected case. This worksheet supports a supplier conversation; it does not predict a guaranteed return.
