PTx Trimble OutRun is a self-contained retrofit autonomy kit from PTx Trimble in Westminster, Colorado, United States. PTx Trimble is a mixed-fleet precision agriculture joint venture between AGCO and Trimble. The kit mounts on a tractor the farm already owns and is sold for driverless grain-cart work during harvest.
Harvest. The combine operator stages the grain cart or calls it from an iPad. The cart can be summoned to the combine to unload on the go and sent to a truck loading zone without a second driver. Combine guidance and steering stay unchanged. An operator is still needed to unload the cart into a truck.
Limits. OutRun runs at up to 15 mph and supports field inclines up to 15 degrees. The tractor kit connects over Starlink.
Fit. Grain-cart use is listed for John Deere 8R tractors from 2014 on. Fendt 900 compatibility is listed for late 2026. An OutRun Tillage version is listed as coming in 2026.
Price. The published structure is a one-time hardware investment plus an annual service fee, with no per-acre or hourly charges. No dollar figure is published.
Safety. Sensors on the tractor monitor the surroundings. If an object is detected, the system slows, then stops if the object does not clear, and can alert the iPad or smartphone. The kit stays inside field boundaries set by the system manager. No-go zones can be set for changing field conditions.
